Ingredients
  

For the canapés
  • 8 oz Smoked Salmon, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 French baguette Baguette or Crackers, sliced into rounds or a box of your favorite crackers
  • 2 tbsp Capers, drained
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Dill or Chives, finely chopped Your choice!
  • Lemon Slices, for garnish and extra zing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast them for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. If using crackers, skip this step.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whip the softened cream cheese until creamy and smooth.
Assembly
  1. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese on each toasted baguette round or cracker.
  2. Lay a slice of smoked salmon over the cream cheese, draping it over the sides for an elegant presentation.
  3. Sprinkle capers and chopped dill or chives on top of the salmon, and finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Serving
  1. Arrange the canapés on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

For Halal-friendly options, substitute smoked trout or any other smoked fish for the salmon. Store uneaten canapés in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
