Method
Preparation
- Take your ground beef and shape it into loose balls of about 4-6 oz each.
- Preheat your griddle or skillet over high heat for a couple of minutes.
Cooking
- Place the meat balls onto the hot surface and smash them down to about 1/2 inch thickness. Season with kosher salt and black pepper.
- Leave the patties alone for 2-3 minutes to allow for caramelized edges.
- Place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and carefully flip them. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Making Baconnaise Sauce
- In a bowl, mix mayo, your favorite hot sauce, garlic powder, and salt until well blended.
Assembly
- Toast your buns lightly if desired, then spread baconnaise sauce on the bottom. Stack the patty with melted cheese on top, and add your desired toppings.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
High heat is key for a good crust. Do not overwork the meat to keep patties tender. Try different toppings to elevate your experience.
