Preparation
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add a light drizzle of cooking oil.
- Form the ground beef into equal-sized balls (about 2 ounces each).
- Place a beef ball in the hot skillet and smash it down to about 1/2 inch thick. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- Cook the smashed burger for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy and brown, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until done.
- Warm the tortillas in another skillet or microwave while the burgers are cooking.
Assembly
- Place the cooked burger patty onto a warm tortilla.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, onions, and a drizzle of salsa.
- Fold the tortilla around the fillings and serve.
Notes
Store any uneaten filling in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat the burger patties in a skillet over medium heat and warm the tortillas separately for the best taste.
