Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and egg until fully incorporated.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Upgrade your chocolate by using high-quality chocolate chips. Don’t overmix your batter to keep the bars tender and chewy. Adjust the bake time if needed.
