Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 envelope ranch dressing mix
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 envelope brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by placing your seasoned beef chuck roast into the slow cooker.
  2. Scatter the sliced onions, diced potatoes, and carrots around the roast.
  3. In a bowl, combine the ranch dressing mix, onion soup mix, and brown gravy mix. Mix with beef broth until well blended.
  4. Pour the seasoning mixture evenly over the beef and vegetables—no need to stir; just let it settle in.
Cooking
  1. Cover your slow cooker and set it to low, cooking for 8 hours, or high for 4-5 hours.
  2. Once the cooking time is up, shred the beef gently using two forks.
  3. Serve with the delicious veggies on the side.

Notes

Add any seasonal vegetables for added flavor. For tougher cuts of meat, use longer cooking times on low heat for tender results. Leftovers can be repurposed into sandwiches or salads.
