  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz) Ensure it’s halal-certified.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Low sodium preferred.
  • 1 packet onion soup mix Halal-certified.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • optional fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation
  1. Begin by placing your boneless, skinless chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, onion soup mix, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well-blended.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring the chicken is well-coated in the sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Shred it using two forks and return it to the gravy. Stir well to combine.
  6. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top for a pop of color. Serve it hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or your preferred side.

Notes

For best results, stick to the low-and-slow cooking method to enhance flavor and tenderness. If preferred, replace the cream of chicken soup with a homemade white sauce for a healthier option. Be cautious of overcooking to avoid dry chicken.
