Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef tips (any cut that is Halal-friendly) Choose quality meat with a little fat for flavor.
  • 1 packet gravy mix (ensure it's Halal-certified) Use your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup beef broth Can substitute with chicken broth if desired.
  • 1 large onion, sliced Creates a flavorful base.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 carrots chopped (optional) Add for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • 2 potatoes cubed (optional) Add these on top for more heartiness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the onions and mince the garlic. If adding vegetables like carrots and potatoes, chop them into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  2. In your slow cooker, layer the sliced onions at the bottom for flavor and to prevent sticking.
  3. Place the beef tips on top of the onions, ensuring they are trimmed of excess fat.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the beef tips, followed by the minced garlic.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the gravy packet with the beef broth until fully combined, then pour over the beef and onions.
  6. If using, add the chopped carrots and cubed potatoes on top of the beef and gravy mixture.
  7. Cover the slow cooker and set to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Serving
  1. Once done, the beef should be fork-tender. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or with fresh bread to soak up the gravy.
