  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast or similar
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning make sure it's Halal-friendly
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth Halal-certified
  • 8-10 pieces tortillas soft corn or flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Trim any excess fat from the beef chuck roast and cut it into large chunks.
  2. In a bowl, rub the taco seasoning all over the beef chunks.
  3. In the slow cooker, add the diced onion and minced garlic at the bottom, then place the seasoned beef on top.
  4. Pour the beef broth over the meat, ensuring it’s well-covered but not submerged.
Cooking
  1. Set your slow cooker to low and let it cook for about 8 hours.
  2. Once the cooking time is up, carefully shred the beef using two forks.
Serving
  1. Warm the tortillas in a pan or microwave until warm and pliable.
  2. Fill each tortilla with shredded beef and top with your choice of lettuce, tomato, cheese, and salsa.

Notes

For leaner meat, consider using beef sirloin. Marinating the beef overnight after seasoning can enhance the flavor.
