Preparation
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
- Once the potatoes are boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter and milk, then mash until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly. Once manageable, take portions of the mixture and shape them into skull-like figures. You can use a skull mold for extra flair!
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Fry each skull-shaped potato for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Place your Skull Potato Bites on a serving platter and top with your choice of toppings.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or oven. For longer storage, freeze uncooked bites on a baking sheet before transferring them to a freezer bag.
