Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 medium potatoes Best if using starchy potatoes like Russets.
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
Optional Toppings
  • as desired cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, chopped chives Feel free to mix and match your favorite toppings.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
  2. Once the potatoes are boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter and milk, then mash until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly. Once manageable, take portions of the mixture and shape them into skull-like figures. You can use a skull mold for extra flair!
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Fry each skull-shaped potato for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Place your Skull Potato Bites on a serving platter and top with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or oven. For longer storage, freeze uncooked bites on a baking sheet before transferring them to a freezer bag.
