Ingredients

Pasta and Meat
  • 12 oz favorite pasta (lasagna noodles or rotini)
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey (or a meat substitute)
Sauce and Cheese
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasoning and Extras
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, bring water to a boil and cook your pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the ground meat and cook over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the marinara sauce, mixing well.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the meat mixture. Stir in the ricotta cheese until evenly combined. Then sprinkle in the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on low heat to allow the cheese to melt and everything to blend together.
  6. Once the cheese is melty and bubbly, remove from heat. Garnish with the remaining Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace the ground meat with mushrooms, lentils, or your favorite plant-based protein. Experiment with different cheese types for unique flavors.
