Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-Ins
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until no dry flour or cocoa powder remains.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping it into a round mound, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
Baking
  1. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges appear set and the center looks slightly underbaked.
  2. Allow the cookie to cool for a couple of minutes before handling.

Notes

You can substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour, but be aware it might change the texture slightly. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for a week. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds.
