Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until no dry flour or cocoa powder remains.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping it into a round mound, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
Baking
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges appear set and the center looks slightly underbaked.
- Allow the cookie to cool for a couple of minutes before handling.
Notes
You can substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour, but be aware it might change the texture slightly. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for a week. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds.
