Method
Preparation
- Start by bringing the water, lemon halves, and Old Bay seasoning to a boil in a large pot. Set a bowl of ice water nearby.
Cooking
- Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them!
- Quickly transfer the shrimp to the bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for a few minutes before draining.
Sauce Preparation
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
- Arrange the chilled shrimp on a platter with the cocktail sauce in the center. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Keep shrimp and sauce separate until ready to serve. Do not reheat shrimp; it is best enjoyed cold.
