Ingredients

For the clusters
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used.
  • 1/4 cup butter Unsalted butter recommended.
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract recommended.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Can be adjusted based on preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients so everything is ready.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup.
  3. Heat the mixture in the microwave on high for 1-2 minutes until it starts to bubble.
  4. Carefully remove the bowl and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
  5. Fold in the pecan halves until they are well coated in the mixture.
  6. On a parchment-lined baking sheet, drop spoonfuls of the mixture to form clusters.
  7. Allow the clusters to cool completely until they harden.

Notes

Be careful not to overcook the sugar mixture as it can harden too much. For variety, experiment with different nuts like almonds or walnuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
