- Cut the cantaloupe in half, remove the seeds, and scoop out the flesh, yielding about 2-3 cups.
- Place the cantaloupe flesh in a blender or food processor.
- Add heavy cream, milk, sugar, sea salt, and vanilla extract to the blender.
- Blend until smooth, leaving small chunks for texture if desired.
- Taste the mixture and add more sugar if a sweeter flavor is preferred.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for about an hour.
- Churn the chilled mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
- Transfer churned mixture to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours to harden.
Notes
Keep ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer for 2-3 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften before serving.
