Preparation
- Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add in the milk and melted butter (or oil) and mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the shredded cheese.
Cooking
- Grease the waffle maker lightly with cooking spray if needed, and pour the batter into the waffle maker.
- Close the lid and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions (usually for about 5 minutes or until golden and crispy).
Serving
- Carefully remove the waffles and serve hot with your favorite toppings such as sour cream, chives, or a sprinkle of chili flakes.
Notes
Leftover waffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in a toaster or oven.
