Ingredients

Pasta and Sauce
  • 8 oz pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like basil or parsley) for garnish

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sautéing Aromatics
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Creating the Cream Sauce
  1. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Allow it to simmer gently, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly, approximately 5 minutes.
Incorporating the Peas
  1. Add the peas to the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining
  1. Lower the heat and add the cooked pasta into the skillet, tossing it with the creamy sauce until well coated.
  2. Stir in the grated Parmesan, allowing it to melt and blend with the sauce.
Serving
  1. Plate your delicious creamy pasta and garnish with fresh herbs to add a pop of color and freshness. Enjoy!

Notes

Leftover Savory Creamy Pasta can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. If possible, keep the pasta and sauce separate until you're ready to enjoy it again. For reheating, gently warm in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of milk or cream to loosen the sauce as needed. If freezing, place it in a freezer-safe container where it can last for up to three months.
