  • 8 oz Brie cheese
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 lb beef strips Use tender cuts for best results
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves Can substitute with dried thyme, adjust quantity
  • 1 ea egg For egg wash
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Season beef strips with salt and pepper, sautéing for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit your tart pan and gently press it in.
  4. Spread cranberry sauce on the pastry, layer with Brie cheese slices, top with crispy beef strips, and sprinkle fresh thyme.
  5. Beat the egg in a bowl and brush the edges of the pastry with the egg wash.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For substitutions, consider using gouda or goat cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to two months.
