Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper until everything is evenly coated and heated through.
- In a pie dish, lay down the pie crust. Pour the beef mixture evenly over the crust and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
- Once done, let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing. Add any optional toppings you desire.
Notes
For a lighter version, try using lean ground turkey or plant-based substitutes. You can also experiment with different types of cheese for an added flavor kick! Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze before baking for up to a month.
