Ingredients
  

For the Dipping Oil
  • 1/2 cup olive oil Quality olive oil works best for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar You can also use red wine or apple cider vinegar.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano Adjust to taste; fresh oregano is a great substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil Feel free to use fresh if available.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Add more for extra heat.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, pour 1/2 cup of olive oil and add 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
  2. Add in the minced garlic, 1 tablespoon each of dried oregano and dried basil, and a teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Using a whisk or a fork, stir all the ingredients together until they’re thoroughly combined.
  4. Allow the oil to sit for at least 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  5. Serve the Savory Bread Dipping Oil in a decorative bowl with warm, crusty bread.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bring to room temperature before serving.
