  • 1 cup maple syrup Pure maple syrup is recommended for best flavor.
  • ½ cup brown sugar Packed.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted For a richer flavor.
  • 3 large eggs Room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor enhancement.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt To balance sweetness.
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped Toast for better flavor.
For the Crust
  • 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade Ensure it's suitable for a 9" pan.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lay the pie crust in a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  3. In a small pan over medium heat, lightly toast the chopped pecans for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
  5. Stir in the toasted pecans.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider drizzling with extra maple syrup or serving with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
