Ingredients

For the Blondie Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins and Topping
  • 1 cup chopped pretzels
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • to taste flaky sea salt for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and whisk until well-combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Be careful not to overmix—just stir until no flour is visible.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped pretzels and half the salted caramel sauce until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly.
  8. Drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the top of the batter and swirl it in slightly with a knife.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out slightly moist from the center.
  10. As soon as you remove the blondies from the oven, sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Store cut blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds before serving.
