  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • to taste flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and a few tablespoons of salted caramel sauce.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the lined baking sheet. Create a small indentation in the center of each cookie and fill it with more salted caramel sauce.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before sprinkling with flaky sea salt.
  3. Serve warm for the best experience.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze between sheets of parchment in a zip-top bag for up to three months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore freshness.
