Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can use dairy-free chocolate chips for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce Drizzle on top for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until creamy and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  5. Carefully fold in the chocolate chips, and swirl in the salted caramel sauce.
  6. Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, then pour in the cookie batter, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, allow it to cool for about 10 minutes before cutting into bars. Drizzle with more salted caramel sauce, if desired.

Notes

To keep the bars fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
