Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets Trimmed and washed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil Adds richness and helps in the roasting process
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced or sliced thin for maximum flavor
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated for the best flavor
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for seasoning
  • a pinch red pepper flakes Optional: for a little heat

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, making sure each piece is well-coated.
  3. Sprinkle the minced garlic into the bowl and toss again, ensuring even distribution.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste, and if desired, sprinkle in red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the broccoli mixture onto a baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring space between pieces.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until tender and edges begin to brown.
  7. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the roasted broccoli and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

For optimal results, use fresh broccoli. Cooking times may vary based on the size of the florets. For extra crispiness, consider broiling for the final minutes. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage.
