Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- Add eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water.
Baking
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans to cool completely on wire racks.
Serving
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting or enjoy as is.
Notes
Store at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Freezing is an option for longer storage, up to 2-3 months.
