  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed Choose a ripe, sweet watermelon for best flavor.
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice Adjust to taste.
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey Optional, adjust based on sweetness preference.
Garnish (Optional)
  • as needed lime wedges or mint leaves For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh to yield about 4 cups of cubed fruit.
Blending
  1. In a blender, combine the watermelon cubes, water, lime juice, and sugar (if using). Blend until smooth.
Straining (Optional)
  1. If preferred, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove pulp.
Taste and Adjust
  1. Sample your agua fresca! Adjust sweetness with additional sugar or lime juice if desired, then blend again.
Chill and Serve
  1. Refrigerate if you prefer it cold. Serve over ice and garnish with lime wedges or fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Best consumed within 2-3 days. No reheating necessary, just shake or stir before serving if it separates. Consider adding fresh herbs or other fruits for variety.
