Preparation
- Wash the raspberries gently under cold water.
- Peel and dice the peaches into small pieces.
Cooking
- In a large pot, mix the raspberries, diced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and fruit pectin. Stir thoroughly.
- Place the pot on the stove over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a full rolling boil and continue boiling for 10-15 minutes.
- To check if the jam is ready, drop a spoonful onto a cold plate. If it firms up, it’s ready; if not, boil for a couple more minutes.
- Remove from heat and carefully ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal them.
- Allow the jars to cool to room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.
Notes
For variations, substitute raspberries with strawberries or blueberries. Ensure to boil long enough for a good consistency.
