Preparation
- Gather all the ingredients. Wash the broccoli and cut it into florets if using fresh broccoli. Set it aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until it’s browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and just tender.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, mixing well to coat the beef and broccoli. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture to thicken the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened, stirring frequently.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
For ingredient substitutions, try using ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Fresh broccoli is recommended for best flavor, but frozen can be used to save time. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a skillet over low heat.
