Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the water and olive oil (if using). Mix with a wooden spoon until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Form the dough into a loaf shape and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Slice and enjoy with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use all-purpose flour for best results. Store in a clean kitchen towel and store in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
