  • 1 large loaf large loaf of bread (preferably Italian or French) Choose a quality loaf for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Use real butter for the best taste.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is recommended.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped You can use other fresh herbs if desired.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese You can substitute other cheeses if preferred.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Use a serrated knife to slice the bread horizontally and vertically, creating a grid pattern, but do not cut all the way through. Keep the bottom intact.
  3. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Carefully drizzle or brush the garlic butter mixture over the bread, making sure it seeps into the cuts.
  5. Gently pull apart the slices and stuff shredded mozzarella cheese and chopped parsley into the cuts.
Baking
  1. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Serving
  1. Once out of the oven, let it cool slightly before serving, and watch it disappear!

Notes

Best served warm. For extra flavor, try adding chili flakes or Italian seasoning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
