Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and trim the tough ends of the asparagus. They should snap easily if you bend them gently at the bottom.
Wrapping
- Take a slice of prosciutto and carefully wrap it around a piece of asparagus, starting from the bottom and creating a spiral as you move up. Repeat this with all the asparagus spears.
Baking
- Place the wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Lightly drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper over the top. If you’re feeling fancy, add lemon zest.
- Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the prosciutto turns crispy and the asparagus is tender.
Serving
- Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese flakes on top right before serving for an elegant touch.
Notes
To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes. You can also enjoy them cold.
