  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For the base of the donuts
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar For sweetness
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder Leavening agent

  • ½ cup whole milk Moisture for the batter
  • 2 large eggs For binding and richness
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter For flavor and moisture
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For coating the donuts

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your donut pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and melted butter until well blended.
  4. Gradually stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into each mold of the donut pan, filling them about ¾ full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Coating and Serving
  1. Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before carefully removing them from the pan.
  2. Roll each donut in powdered sugar while they’re still warm for a sweet coating.

Notes

Don’t overmix your batter to avoid dense donuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
