  • 2 large potatoes peeled and cut into thin strips
  • Oil for frying any preferred cooking oil enough to submerge the potato sticks
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • Optional: Garlic powder or your favorite seasonings for added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the potatoes (if preferred) and cut them into thin strips, resembling ‘finger’ shapes.
  2. Soak the cut potato sticks in cold water for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat enough oil in a deep frying pan or large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  3. Carefully add a portion of the potato sticks to the hot oil, frying in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Transfer the cooked sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and season immediately with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you desire.

Notes

If any leftover Potato Finger Sticks, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. For longer storage, freeze them once cooled. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes.
