  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 4 sticks cinnamon sticks
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 4 whole star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot or slow cooker, pour in the apple cider and orange juice.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved.
  3. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and allspice to the mixture.
Cooking
  1. Simmer on low for about 20-30 minutes or until the spices have infused their flavors into the cider.
  2. If using a slow cooker, set it on low for about 2 hours.
Serving
  1. Remove the spices; ladle the cider into mugs and garnish with sliced apples, orange peels, or a drizzle of caramel for that extra touch.
