Preparation
- If using store-bought dough, let it rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes. If making your own, prepare the dough according to your favorite recipe and let it rise.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut into squares large enough to fit into your skull mold or form them into individual skull shapes by hand.
- Place a square of dough into the mold and add a spoonful of pizza sauce, followed by mozzarella cheese and your choice of toppings. Be careful not to overfill!
- Fold the dough over to create a skull shape, pinching the edges to seal them well.
- Lightly brush the tops of the skulls with olive oil.
- Place the Pizza Skulls on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes, and then serve with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze for longer storage in a freezer-safe container or bag and enjoy within 2 months. To reheat, pop them back in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
