Ingredients

Dough and Filling
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup assorted toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms) Get creative with your toppings!
  • Italian seasoning to taste
  • Olive oil for brushing For a golden finish

Method

Preparation
  1. If using store-bought dough, let it rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes. If making your own, prepare the dough according to your favorite recipe and let it rise.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut into squares large enough to fit into your skull mold or form them into individual skull shapes by hand.
  4. Place a square of dough into the mold and add a spoonful of pizza sauce, followed by mozzarella cheese and your choice of toppings. Be careful not to overfill!
  5. Fold the dough over to create a skull shape, pinching the edges to seal them well.
  6. Lightly brush the tops of the skulls with olive oil.
  7. Place the Pizza Skulls on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes, and then serve with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze for longer storage in a freezer-safe container or bag and enjoy within 2 months. To reheat, pop them back in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
