Delicious Pizza Grilled Cheese sandwich with melted cheese and pizza toppings

Pizza Grilled Cheese: A Cheesy Twist on a Classic Delight!

There's something undeniably magical about the blend of gooey cheese, crusty bread, and the vibrant flavors of pizza. The Pizza Grilled Cheese takes two of our favorite foods and combines them into a quick, satisfying meal that’s perfect for any time of day. Imagine biting into a crispy, buttery golden sandwich, only to discover a warm, melty center packed with mozzarella, pepperoni, and zesty marinara sauce. It's like your childhood dreams came true in the form of a sandwich!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread your choice—sourdough, white, or whole grain
  • 2 tablespoons of butter for grilling
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup of marinara sauce plus more for dipping
  • ¼ cup of sliced pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings
  • 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or oregano optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare your station: Gather all your ingredients and place them near your cooking space.
  • Butter the bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will make our grilled cheese delightfully crispy.
  • Assemble the sandwich: Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, onto a skillet over medium heat. Add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the marinara sauce, pepperoni slices, and the remaining mozzarella cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  • Grill it: Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Slice and serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil or a sprinkle of Parmesan!
