Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak Ask butcher for thinly sliced or freeze for easier slicing.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing the vegetables.
  • 1 whole onion, sliced Adds sweetness and flavor.
  • 1 whole bell pepper, sliced Can use green, red, or yellow bell peppers.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls For holding the filling together.
  • Cheese (provolone or Cheez Whiz) Your choice for melting on top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the onion and bell pepper, and have your ribeye steak on standby.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until they become soft and slightly caramelized, around 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Push the veggies to the side of the skillet. Increase the heat slightly and add the thinly sliced ribeye to the pan. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until the steak is browned but still tender. Mix everything together, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. If using provolone cheese, place the slices directly over the steak mixture for about a minute until melted. If using Cheez Whiz, pour it over the mixture and stir until combined.
Assembly
  1. Split your hoagie rolls and fill each with the cheesy steak mixture. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich!

Notes

For halal preparation, ensure meats are halal-certified. Avoid overcooking veggies to maintain some crunch. Store leftovers properly and reheat using a skillet or oven for best results.
