Preparation
- Prepare your ingredients by slicing the onion and bell pepper, and have your ribeye steak on standby.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until they become soft and slightly caramelized, around 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Push the veggies to the side of the skillet. Increase the heat slightly and add the thinly sliced ribeye to the pan. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until the steak is browned but still tender. Mix everything together, allowing the flavors to meld.
- If using provolone cheese, place the slices directly over the steak mixture for about a minute until melted. If using Cheez Whiz, pour it over the mixture and stir until combined.
Assembly
- Split your hoagie rolls and fill each with the cheesy steak mixture. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich!
Notes
For halal preparation, ensure meats are halal-certified. Avoid overcooking veggies to maintain some crunch. Store leftovers properly and reheat using a skillet or oven for best results.
