Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • to taste Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by slicing the ribeye steak as thinly as possible. The thinner, the better! Likewise, slice the onion and green bell pepper.
Cooking Veggies
  1. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté until the veggies are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to add flavor.
Cooking Steak
  1. Push the veggies to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the other side. Season the steak with salt and pepper, cooking it for about 4-5 minutes until browned. Be sure to stir it occasionally for even cooking.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Mix the steak with the sautéed veggies, allowing their flavors to meld. Reduce the heat to low.
Adding Cheese
  1. Lay the provolone cheese slices over the steak and veggie mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Assembling Sandwich
  1. While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls in half. Once the cheese has melted, spoon the steak mixture generously into each roll.
Serving
  1. Dig into your scrumptious Philly cheesesteak sandwiches while they’re warm. Enjoy the comforting flavors that are sure to please everyone!

Notes

Meat substitutions can be made for healthier options. Ensure not to overcook the steak to maintain juiciness. Store leftovers in refrigerated airtight containers for up to 3 days.
