Imagine diving into a deliciously cheesy, crunchy loaf filled with sumptuous ribeye steak, vibrant peppers, and earthy mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper divided
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 1 loaf of French bread halved lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese sliced

Instructions

  • reheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Perfect temperature for that cheesy delight!
  • Cook the Steak: In a skillet over medium heat, add the canola oil. Once warmed, add in the thinly sliced ribeye steak, seasoning it with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper. Cook until nicely browned.
  • Sauté the Vegetables: To this, stir in the Worcestershire sauce and then add the butter, bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Sauté until the vegetables become soft and flavorful!
  • Prepare the Bread: Slice your French bread lengthwise and spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on the cut sides, giving that extra creaminess.
  • Assemble: Spoon the steak mixture onto each half of the bread. Don't be shy; stack it nice and high!
  • Add the Cheese: Top it all off with those glorious provolone cheese slices.
  • Bake: Place the assembled cheesy bread in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Slice and Serve: Once out of the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve it warm for downright happiness!
