Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking those cookies.
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Gently fold the M&Ms into the cookie dough until they are evenly distributed.
- Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
