  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened but not melted.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup M&Ms (or as desired) Feel free to swap M&Ms with chocolate chips or other mix-ins.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking those cookies.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Gently fold the M&Ms into the cookie dough until they are evenly distributed.
  6. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, grab a glass of milk and enjoy your delicious Perfect M&M Cookies!

Notes

For thicker cookies, consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for later enjoyment. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds.
