Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed through the cookie dough.
Baking
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Immediately sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each cookie while they're still warm.
Cooling
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve with a glass of milk or ice cream.
Notes
Consider chilling the cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking for better texture. Mix and match chocolate chips for an exciting twist.
