Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed through the cookie dough.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Immediately sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each cookie while they're still warm.
Cooling
  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Serve with a glass of milk or ice cream.

Notes

Consider chilling the cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking for better texture. Mix and match chocolate chips for an exciting twist.
