Marinade Ingredients
  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, honey, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp to the bowl, tossing them in the marinade until they are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. While the shrimp is marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes beforehand to prevent burning).
Cooking
  1. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  2. Remove from the grill, drizzle with a bit of extra lemon juice if desired, and enjoy your perfect grilled jumbo shrimp!

Notes

Don't overcook the shrimp to prevent them from becoming rubbery. For a deeper flavor, marinate the shrimp for up to an hour or more if time permits. Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
