  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Use high-quality chips for best flavor.

Method
 

Pre baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure an even bake.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mix aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they’re well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an even thicker cookie, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Serve with cold milk or vanilla ice cream.
