Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until the dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans together in a bowl.
Baking
- After the dough has risen, roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle your warm Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls generously with maple syrup.
