  • 1/2 cup warm milk Not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

For the filling

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon Adjust based on preference.
For the topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until the dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans together in a bowl.
Baking
  1. After the dough has risen, roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  3. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
  4. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Once out of the oven, drizzle your warm Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls generously with maple syrup.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen for best results.
