Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until it’s lightly golden.
Filling
- In a bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the filling mixture.
Combine and Bake
- Once the crust is ready, pour the pecan mixture over it and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is slightly caramelized.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For a twist, you can add seasonal spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to the pecan filling. Store the bars in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days, or freeze them for later enjoyment.
