  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the Peanut Butter Cheesecake Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, whisking until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, then gradually fold it into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Making Peanut Butter Cheesecake Layer
  1. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and sugar until creamy.
  2. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
Layering and Baking
  1. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly.
  2. Spoon the peanut butter cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer, spreading it out as needed.
  3. Finally, pour the remaining brownie batter on top and gently swirl it together with a knife for a marbled effect.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
