Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced Use ripe, juicy peaches for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Half for the filling, half for the topping.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon For enhanced flavor in the filling.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice your fresh peaches into wedges. If desired, peel them for a smoother texture.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with half of the brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Pour the peach mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Topping Preparation
  1. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, remaining brown sugar, flour, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
  2. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the peach filling.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat. For variations, replace some oats with crushed nuts for a nutty flavor.
