Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly blended.
- Take each chicken breast, dip it in the beaten eggs to coat, then dredge it in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
Baking
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is crisp and golden. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Once done, take the chicken out of the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
Notes
For ingredient substitutions, mozzarella can be used instead of Parmesan cheese. If using thicker chicken breasts, account for additional cooking time. Skipping the egg-dipping step is a common mistake and should be avoided.
