Method
Preparation
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels for a crispier finish.
- Season both sides of the salmon generously with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.
- Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crisp.
- Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
Making the Sauce
- Once the salmon is cooked, transfer it to a plate and cover to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
- Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Serving
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the salmon, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
To complement, serve with fluffy rice or creamy mashed potatoes to soak up the garlic butter sauce. A side of sautéed green beans or fresh arugula salad adds vibrant color and flavor. Enjoy with a crisp glass of white wine.
