Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Make sure it’s halal-compliant
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish, optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts with kitchen towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture generously over the chicken breasts.
Baking
  1. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  2. After 20 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over each breast.
  3. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a charred finish, if desired.
  4. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours before cooking. You can also use halal-certified turkey or tofu as alternative proteins. Allowing the chicken to rest after baking makes it juicier; cutting it too soon might let the juices escape.
