Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) to ensure even cooking.
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts with kitchen towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture generously over the chicken breasts.
Baking
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over each breast.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a charred finish, if desired.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours before cooking. You can also use halal-certified turkey or tofu as alternative proteins. Allowing the chicken to rest after baking makes it juicier; cutting it too soon might let the juices escape.
